Wal-mart store have announced that it will not sell HD DVDs here after. This move was made to support the Blue-ray format. As you all know the format war is between HD DVD and the Blue-ray. HD DVD is supported by Toshiba and Hitachi, while the Blue-ray format is supported by Sony and Philips. The Hollywood studios seen supporting the Blue-ray format are Fox and Warner Bros, while the rival format is supported by Paramount and Universal. With the announcement of wal-mart stores that it would stop selling HD DVDs there is a little chance for the Toshiba’s format to survive.
